Every year, people celebrate ANZAC Day because we remember those who fought and died in the World War I.
I am a Year 8 student at St Pius X Catholic School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 7 and my teacher is Mrs Tui.

Life Education Van
Today it was room 3's last day to go to the life education van. In the life education van it had Harold the giraffe a screen. Last time we went to the van we watched a video. It was about a alien. When it started it had star at the top. Today room 3 went to the van again and talked about when we digestion our food. First it go to our mouth and then we chew it and we swallow the food. The food go down to our throat. It have a special tube called the oesophagus it squeeze the food to go down to our stomach. When its ready to go down, it goes down to the small intestines. It make the food go smaller and really small. The good one goes to our blood and the bad ones is ready to go to the toilet.

BASKETBALL FACTS
Anyone can play basketball and we can be in five group or teams.
Basketball is like netball but you have to dribble the ball.
In basketball you are not allowed to hold the ball without dribbling.
You have to be fit if you want to be in the team. If your not fit you can’t be in the team. If you are too thin you can be in the team if you are just right you can be in the team.

Howick Historical Village
My favourite part of Howick Historical Village was the school because it was great I found the teacher very strict and her name was Mrs Mill. It was very cool, there were pens, inks and a chalkboard. The boys had to bow and the girl had to curtsy. We said “good morning Mrs Miller” then Mrs Miller put us in 2 groups. I sat next to Ramonadel (we had to use the same cloth for our ink pen). We were acting, Mrs Miller was acting as the teacher and we were acting as the children. We were in rows. I felt like I was in the 1800’s!
First we did some handwriting and learnt about the world with the map, we learnt how the English people got to New Zealand.
Next we did a spelling game, it was called a spelling bee we had to spell some words and some of the words were hard to spell.
The last thing we did was learning about money. In the 1800’s the dad liked the note money because when he hears it crackle in his pocket he felt rich. The mother put money in the jar and the kids got money from people for doing chores.
Miss G and Andrew were sitting in the back because they were seniors. Seniors means that they are older and had been at school for a long time.
I think I would like being in school in the past because they got to do lots of fun stuff, but I think the teacher was a bit too strict.

Reflection
My favourite thing this term was doing math whizz because it was cool and it helped me to learn.
I found the hardest was basketball because it was hard to shoot the ball to the hoops.
I enjoy the most our Mother’s day mass because I saw my mum.
