Going Sailing!

On a cloudy slightly sunny day, we were getting ready to go sailing. I was so excited but so nervous, we were going to Kohimarama Beach. Since the activity only takes 12 people, we were split up into 2 groups. Group one was the first one to go, they went at 9 in the morning and came back at 12 in the noon. I was in the second group, the second group was the last one to go, we went at 12 in the noon and finished at 3 in the afternoon.

“Is everybody ready?” Questioned Mrs Tui. “Yes!” We all said in union. Group 2 went to room 6 while group one was getting ready to go sailing. While in room 6... “Hurry up time, be faster!” I thought in my head, I was getting really impatient. I kept on looking at the time and counting down how many minutes until we can go. Just after a few minutes after prayers, Mrs. Genie randomly walked in. “Are we going?” I questioned myself. “Okay room 6, go and carry on with your work and the room 7’s, go with Mrs. Genie.” I heard Mrs. Tui. I was so enthusiastic.

“Get in the van guys.” Commented Mrs. Genie. We went in the van. “My seat belt! I don’t have a seat belt!” I half whispered half shouted. “Here it is.” Lupe remarked. “Thanks.” I replied. We were on our way to go to Kohimarama Beach.

We arrived at Kohimarama Beach, there we saw 5 sailing boats. After seeing the sailing boats, I got nervous. I wanted to run away. Then I heard someone screaming my name. “Ierei!” Sonya yelled, I ran up to her and gave her a huge hug, “Ierei!” Aurora shouted, “Yay!” I yelled, I hugged Aurora really tightly.

After a few minutes of organising, group one was leaving. It was our turn, I felt butterflies forming in my stomach. Later on we were in our boats, since I was by myself I went with Oscar and the instructor in the motorboat, some point during the day, I went to swap places with Rachel, while I was getting off the boat... “Splash!” I fell in the water, all I could hear was laughter, I was laughing from embarrassment. I finally got in the sailing boat with my new partner which was Alecia.

During the day, Alecia and I were getting good at sailing. We sailed all the way to the shore because we were finishing up. When we arrived at the shore I was super exhausted, I was breathing heavily. We were packing up the sail boats, the girls went to change in the trailer while the boys got changed at the back of the balcony.

After a long tiring day, we went back home. What a wonderful experience!

Boring Holiday~!

The first week of the holiday, yay! But... It wasn’t just a normal holiday, no! I did nothing!

I was in the sitting room by myself, I decided to play some music while doing the dishes in the kitchen. After cleaning, I turned off the music and watched t.v. And Oh my, watching t.v was boring. There was nothing to watch really. I just turned off the t.v and went to my room, since my brother was on the laptop I just daydreamed in my room lying on my bed, my head lying on the soft pillow and being covered by my blanket. I was comfortable and warm. It felt like I was on the clouds, floating in the sky.

I could feel my eyes getting heavy, cautiously I feel asleep. When I woke up, I went to look up the window and saw the sky. It was still day time, I was pretty shocked because I thought it was going to be night time. I walked over to the sitting room finding my mom there. She was watching t.v. Since there was nothing to do I just plopped onto the couch and just watched t.v with her. I was still bored, I asked my mum to change the channel.

Basically throughout the holidays I did nothing. It was a pretty boring holiday for me.

An Exciting Day~!

18.09.15 Friday
Today was a fun-filling day~!  In the morning we had Grandparents mass, I was so glad that I have invited my Grandparents! After the Grandparents mass we had a special morning tea just for the Grandparents.  The year 8's were hosting it but the sad thing was that only my Nana came not my Grandpa.  I had some biscuits and a cup of tea.  It was delicious~!  There were music playing during our Grandparents morning tea.

Later on after our actual morning tea, there were the speech competition.  The winners from the years 5,6,7, and 8 get to say their speech in front of the whole school.  All the speeches were amazing and touching.   In the year 7, my classmate Patrick won, in the year 6, Ana-Lei won and in the year 5, Anna-Lisa won.  Out of the year 8, my best friend Aurora won first place~! I was very proud of her~! I kept on hugging her and yelling "You did it~!"

Afterwards we had a sausage sizzle/lunchtime.  I didn't have a sausage sizzle because I had my own lunch.  Then the whole school came together and dance to some music. Some people were inside their classes, for example: Me~! I stayed inside the class, I was listening to my own music, but I wasn't the only one staying inside the class, some of my classmates were inside as well.  It was full of laughter, dancing and singing.  They danced and sang for the whole lunchtime. After then, we all went back to our class and continued with our work.

My highlight for the day was when my best friend Aurora won the speech competition~! I am still proud of her~! My other highlight was when we were dancing and singing because some of my classmates stayed inside the class and I get to listen to my own music~!

But I can't wait till' next week~!!!!

Describing My Mom :)

My mom is wonderful to me because she always cares for me, she always make me smile and she loves me until the end of time.

My mom has pale skin, she has freckles on her face (but you can’t really see it on her face).  Her height is short and she is round.  My mum’s name is Elizabeth Ierei Timu and is she a Cook Islander.  My mom goes to university in Auckland. She goes to AUT University.  Sometimes my mom have to go to the shore because of the university she goes too.  My mom gave life to my brother and I.  My lovely mother really loves this K-Pop group named “Super Junior.”  My mum drives a car. My mum is a great cook. Sometimes my mom can get really angry but then she changes into a caring lady.  My mom can have heaps of fun.

Everyday I love my mum and I will never stop loving her.

ANZAC Letter To The Sick :)

Dear Aurora, Hola, Joshua and Valensia.

Today the whole school celebrated ANZAC Day. First we had mass. It was the whole school mass. Some parents were there. We all have to sit next to our soul friends. It was a good mass. After mass we had our liturgy. It was short but amazing.

Some parents came and we had some visitors some the RSA (Returned and Services Association). We gathered around the grotto. Some people were holding the New Zealand flag, others were holding a vase full of water and flowers, some other people were holding a picture of a lemon squeezer ( A lemon squeezer is a hat, not an actual lemon squeezer.)

The others were just standing around the grotto. I was helping Salote with the music. I forgot to tell you guys that we had our poppies with us. We listened to this music called “The Last Post.” We were all silent. After that we read the oath.

After reading the oath we all sang the national anthem. After singing the national anthem we all went back to our class. Mr. Hooker came to visit us. (Mr. Hooker is our old teacher.) You guys are missing out on the sausage sizzle.

Take care! :)

Farewell Halamehi...

To: Halamehi

I remember the times when you were there for me through my many tears you helped me really seethat you are always there for me.

You stood close to me like a friend, there for me until the end.I will never forget you, the things you helped me through, I saw my inspiration, it is you, you were always there when I needed you, I now will always have great memories of you.

You would ask me "how are you?" I would say "I'm fine" as tears start to form in my eyes, you always knew that I was really not fine.

You are someone that I want to be like, I found out who that person is, that person is you. I hope that you remember me through your days, you have touched my heart in so many ways.

I look up to you and I see a ray of sunshine shining in on me. I knew God sent me one of his angles when he sent you to me.

You help through it all coming to save me every time I fall. If I could say one word that wouldn't tell it all.

I can't thank you enough.Farewell. Take care. Be safe! :)

P.S - I hope you have a great in Australia Halamehi!!!

Going To Pt. England To See The Hokulea!!!! :3

image16.jpeg

Today was a really fun productive day! We went to Pt. England Reserve to see the Hokulea. I was very overwhelmed. Before we got to the Pt. England Reserve the seniors have to walk because there was only one bus. The juniors went inside the bus. When I found out we have to walk. I got really angry.

Why I got angry? Because we have to walk, I am not fit at all. Room 1, 3 and 4 went inside the bus and room 5, 6 and 7 walked to Pt. England. It was very hard. I was so tired, I hate walking. It was a long walk. When we got there, there were heaps of childrens and different schools. Luckily enough we get to meet the navigators of the Hokulea. We all hi-fived them.

It was very beautiful. People were singing and there were speeches. Too bad it finished. When the ceremony finished we all stood up and get to meet the navigators of the Hokulea. After that we all sat down and divided the class. This time it was room 5, 3, 4 and 1 that get to go on the bus while room 6 and 7 have to walk.
We were walking half way through the park until Mr Gaffney came running down to us. We all stopped and wondered why is he here. He told us that there was a bus for us. We were happy. We were jumping around. Then we walked to the bus, sat on the seats and enjoyed the ride. When we arrived at school it was morning tea. I was so tired, so I slept. But I didn't sleep for the whole day. What a fun productive day!

A Sorry Letter

Blue’s Clues
5 Clues street, Canada
18.02.4321

Dear Steve,

I am writing this letter because I am being kind and letting you know that I am way better than you.

I am sorry that I better clothes than you!
I am sorry that I better shoes than you!
I am sorry that I have a better life than you!
I am sorry that I am richer than you!
And I am sorry that I am just too awesome for you!
Oh and I forgot, I am really sorry that I have more jewelry than you!

I am sorry for being cool because I know that I was born being awesome but you have feelings and I know that hardly anyone knows you or remembers you but I know that you are. Everyone still remembers me and people still like me, but I will try not to do that.

I will try and be like you, dress like you and act like you. I will wear silly colourful striped clothes and wear brown or black pants with brown shoes.

Kind Regards,
Blue’s Clues

Michelle's Visit

On Friday we had a guest speaker who spoke to us about how she became successful she is a DJ, sound engineer she is a Cook Islander and a presenter at Nui Fm. Her name is Michelle newton. She came to visit us because we were learning about being successful and how we could become successful. She said “I became a successful person because I studied hard and I listened to my teacher.”

When we put up our hands someone told Michelle to do her mother impression. When she did that it was funny, we were all laughing. I laughed so hard that I was crying. She was here for an hour so that was pretty long. She has 2 dogs, one is a pitbull and the other one was a rottweiler. When we put our hands up someone asked if she was bullied, but she said “no but we should bullying, if you are bullied go and tell a grown up” That was good advice.

When it was over we took some photos. First we had to smile then after we, we made funny faces, I closed my eyes and smiled funny. After that she went and she got us sticker and bookmarks.

My favourite part was when she was doing her impression, that was funny. It was a fun day.

Cathoilc Shools Day

21st of May was Catholic Schools Day. The school that visited us was St Joseph, it was full of palagis. After morring tea we had mass, St Joseph was sitting between us. There were two priests but I forgot the priests names.

After mass we had an early lunchtime. It looked like we had shared lunch but we didn’t and Aurora, Lezabelle and I didn’t have any space so we had to sit inside the shelter. I was eating chips, Aurora was eating peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Lezabelle was eating a ham sandwich. Lezabelle was finished first so she was hurrying Aurora and I. So when we finished eating Lezabelle was rushing us to get a friend from St Joseph.

But Aurora and I was too shy so I said “We will wait for a girl from St Joseph to come to the field.” So Aurora and I went to the field. By the time we got to the field we saw a girl by herself so we ran to her and said “Hello what is your name?” and she said “My name is Emily.” So she gave me her badge to tell everyone that I have a buddy from St Joseph. So I said to Emily “ My name is Ierei.” and Aurora said “And my name is Aurora.” So we went to play. We went up the hill and we were thinking of a game so Emily said “Lets play tag” and Aurora and I said “Sure!” Emily tagged me and they were running down the hill, I was really puzzled. So I ran down the hill laughing and I was running and I was trying to get Emily until Aurora went past me and I was too busy chasing Aurora.

When we finsing playing tag Aurora and I was resting up the top of the hill, Aurora and I was huffing and puffing, I was so tired that I thought I was going to die, but Emily wasn’t tired so she went and said “I will go and find another buddy but I am still your buddy.” So I said to Emily “Okay.” So Emily went. Then Aurora and I was looking for an another buddy and that will be Aurora’s buddy. We were walking to get Aurora a buddy until I had to go to Joseph (he is my nephew) so I went to Joseph and I left Aurora there to find a buddy. After I talked with Joseph I saw Aurora with this girl from St Joseph and Aurora wearing a budge. So when I went to Aurora she was taking to the girl, then Aurora introduced Georgia and I said “Nice to see you, my name is Ierei.” So we shook hands. Aurora and I went her around the school, after the we showed Georgia around the school we went to the park and asked her some question like how big is your classroom and she said “is bigger than your guys classroom.” When we were finished taking the bell rang and Aurora,Georgia and I was running to our classroom and we were saying bye to each other.

When we were lining up outside room 6 and Miss Leaupepe came out and pointed to the hall because it was the concert and we all lined up there outside the hall. We went inside the hall and waiting for everyone to settle down. Genavive was taking. First was room 7 singing their song, their song were called Let It Go. After Room 7 was finish it was the whole school from St Joseph. They were singing Count On Me by Bruno Mars. When they were finished Room 3 went up and did the Cup Song but in a different way. It was cool when they were finished it was Room 3 in St Joseph they were doing a Maori song, it was pretty short but still it was pretty awesome. When they were done room 7 was doing a song again but it was the ukulele people they were doing I’m Yours Jason Macrs when they started everyone was singing to it because it was a sing a long. When everyone was finish Mr Coakley came up to have a speech. It took ages but still I was listening. When Mr Coakley finish speaking St Joseph had to go so when they were going out the hall we sang a African blessing song called Hamba Gashie. When we were finish we had to go back to our classes, but when we went inside the our classroom we did a little learning and we went to clean up the classroom. It was a really fun day.

Today was an exciting day for St Pius, because we were going to Sylvia Park to watch the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

Every school sent in movies so we can watch it in the Sylvia Park movie Hoyts. We went to the bus at 10:00am and we ended up at Sylvia Park at 10:15. We lined up at the car park. When we were ready to go we went in. We were walking everywhere it was like having an adventure. There was a giant christmas tree at the movie entrance. We had to go up the escalator before we went inside the movies. We had to sit down and wait for the other schools. There was Glenbrae school, Pt england school and much more.

When all of the school were at the theatre we went inside the theatre. St Pius kids were so lucky that they sat in the cool chairs. It had a leg rest and a lump. Duffy and the best book in the world

Today on friday we went to a Duffy show. A Duffy show is when
they come to school and teach us why reading is important.

My favourtie part was when it was Emmy’s birthday and she was trying to wake up her dad (sonny bill williams). I like it how duffy came out and then stuffy came and he was dancing. It was really funny.
